"After a few years of repairing leaks around the skylight
in the roof of my utility room/2nd bath, I decided to
just have the skylight removed, unfortunately I put it
off too long and the leaking got worse and the roof
around the skylight began to rot. I finally "bit the
bullet" and called a couple of contractors to get a
couple of estimates. I wasn't sure where to start, then
I saw an ad on TV for a company that I thought might be
able to do the work. I joined Angie's List specifically
to find out what I could about that company, but that
company was not listed on Angie's list. Fortunately, I
found another company (with a very similar name) that was
very highly rated on Angie's List. I checked the Better
Business Bureau website about both companies and both
were highly rated. I called both companies and had
representatives from both come out to talk about the
work I wanted done, both said they would get back to me
with an estimate in a few days. Lone Star State
Construction sent me an estimate (by email) within a
couple of days. I never heard back from the other
company. I hired Lone Star State Construction and from
the start, everyone that came out to work on this
project was great! I was told that the job would take 4
days to complete, it took 5, but that was because after
they got started I asked them to build some shelves for
me in the room. I was around for most of the work and
saw first hand the professionalism and hard work
everyone involved put into this job. Everyone knew what
to do and how to do it. I couldn't believe how well they
cleaned up after themselves everyday! Overall, I was
very impressed and I am very pleased with the finished
product."

"We have done an extreme remodel of our mountain home with Dave Peters and
would highly recommend him on any new or remodel job. He is honest in his
dealings, punctual in his timings, exacting in his workmanship, and very
watchful that any subbed out work is completed to his high standards"

"From the beginning, this project was well planned
and executed. The owner of the company communicated
to me every day and always gave me fair notice of
the scope of the day. I have a son with asthma and
the owner was very careful to keep his bedroom taped
off and protected from the dust. The demolition went
as smoothly as can be expected and the rest of the
installation went very well. Workers arrived on
time. .... The overall project took about a month
from beginning to end. I would highly recommend this
company.'' J. Franck

"This is a family owned and operated home
construction and remodeling business that can really
do it all. From our initial meeting and free
estimate to the last clean up this project went
smoothly in every way. The quality of each aspect of
the kitchen renovation was very high with close
attention to detail. Communication with the
homeowner concerning scheduled work time, cost,
materials used, coordination with subcontractors,
and construction techniques was excellent. Clean up
after each days work was never an issue. I felt all
involved with this project addressed my concerns,
answered my questions completely and were
exceedingly flexible and accommodating. I would
unconditionally recommend this company and plan to
have them install my new kitchen floor next."

"I have been working with Dave Peters since 1998. He brings energy to a project as well as a professional outlook. He provides a clean job site on a timely schedule. His uncanny ability to work with subcontractors and his command of their respect are qualities which are welcome in our profession. When his projects are completed, we are proud to include them in our resume" Tab Bonidy, President TAB Associates - Architectural firm |
I started thinking about remodeling about 3
years ago, finally got around to it. I had a
flyer from the company in the front door and
called--I was incredibly fortunate! Dave came
out, discussed what I wanted done and got back
to me quickly with an estimate. Dave seemed very
sure, quick to pick up on things--we clicked!
Once the work got started I was impressed with
the whole crew. All were polite, got to their
tasks... Dave's and Don's and the crew's
attitudes and actions eased my mind, In other
words, I didn't feel alone in this, as if these
were just hired people to do a job and I was
simply paying them.... I felt concern, care and
cooperation, great responsiveness and a
willingness to listen AND hear...I was
fortunate. My girlfriend works for an
independent claims adjuster and she has many
horror stories about contractors. Fortunately,
we didn't go through that. Thanks, Lone Star.
